The thought of being single can be terrifying, especially if you’ve been in relationship for a long time. A lot of people stay in unhealthy relationship just because they can’t imagine having to go back to single life. But being single doesn’t necessarily mean you’re alone.
Some people dislike being single. They imagine that couples have much happier lives, and they aspire to find a relationship. However, not all relationships are amazing - just because a couple are always smiling in the photos that they upload to social media, it doesn’t mean that their relationship is smooth sailing. In fact, quiet a lot of relationships are negative and unhealthy!
Being single is better than settling for someone who does not deserve you. Someone who doesn’t love you the way you deserve to be loved. someone who does not treat you right, who does not respect you. Someone who is not scared the thought of losing you. You deserve the best.
Being single is better than settling for someone who cannot see your worth. Someone who only see the flaws in you. Someone who only notices your insecurities and weakness. Someone who is more than willing to criticize you rather than reminding you of your potential and strength. You should keep only a relationship that credits you rather than discredits you.
Being single is better than settling for someone who is only interested in taking advantage of you. Someone who comes to you only when they need something from you. Someone who compliments you only when they need a favor. Someone who is not available when you need them.
There are also too many awesome things about being single to list here. But just know that you definitely aren’t guaranteed to be miserable just because you don’t have a partner. If you’re spending all your time trying to make a failing relationship work, you could be missing out on someone else who is perfect for you. Literally, they could be standing right in front of you, and you’d be too busy text-fighting with Mr/Miss. Wrong to notice. But if you’re single you’re available to start dating anyone wonderful who comes into your life - So keep your eyes peeled for Mr/Miss. Right!
Most relationships contain an element of jealousy, and sometimes it can become a big problem. It takes up a lot of energy and it leaves people feeling low and drained. As single person you don’t have to worry about why your partner is ignoring your texts. Instead you can focus that energy into another more productive area of your life. You don’t have to deal with jealousy!
When you are single you have control over your emotions, you can manage your situations alone and somehow you are detached and unbroken. Because of this stability you become a pillar of support not only to yourself but also to others. You don’t deserve to be broken.
You may have thought that you need your partner to take care of you and do things for you, but being single will give you a sense of freedom and independence like never before. There might be an adjustment period that you go through, but once you are past it, it will be a great time ahead. Your happiness should be controlled and determined by you not someone else. Being alone and loving yourself is one of the most remarkable relationships there can be. You value, discover and learn to adore yourself. Freedom is a rare commodity and an asset - not everyone has it.
A relationship is like a tree, it needs to planted and cultivated. It takes time, energy, resources and attention. It also takes the commitment of the two individuals involved to make it grow. It hurts when a relationship is not going in the right direction and that is why being single and loving yourself sometimes make you happy. Because at the end of the day we really want to be understood and appreciated. Finding love shouldn’t be your goal, finding happiness should be. Your main priority should be your own happiness - regardless of your relationship status. “The bottom line is that being in a relationship is something that should make life better. If it doesn’t, you’re with the wrong person, and you can do better.” So enjoy the single life for now, as you never know when it will end!
